Blog #5

As midterm week goes on, I've noticed something about myself. I am the kind of person who plans out almost every hour of my week, and because of this, I'm normally able to accomplish tasks in a timely fashion with a decent work quality. I even plan for procrastination. This allows me to avoid a lot of the stress that comes along with midterms.

Pretty much everyone in my family is like that to some degree, and I never really gave much thought to it. Ultimately, this week I've noticed that I am grateful to be like that. I do get stressed like any other person, but I've noticed that I normally feel prepared to handle it, and often I raise my work ethic when put under pressure. I've seen lots of my friends get little-to-no sleep this week, and I never want to, nor plan to do that.

I always enjoy when I learn, or notice something (especially about myself), outside of the classroom. I feel like when I learn a lesson about something on my own, it "sticks" much better. I am a firm believer that if you learn something without trying, it is because you will need that in the future.

  1. I am the EXACT same way, and I also fail to sympathize with my friends who pull all nighters during midterms and finals weeks. I'm definitely not perfect, and sometimes I procrastinate more than my planned time, but having a plan makes everything so much better. Also, I don't really function if I get less than 7-8 hours of sleep, so I'd say we're doing pretty well Patrick!
